BUILDING A COMMUNITY
KEEPING IN TOUCH
Keeping in touch is one of the most important aspects of what I do with my puppies. Keeping in touch can be a once a year touching base or meeting for coffee and talking about future breeding or nothing important at all.
Keeping in touch is for learning about both the good and the negative aspects of health or temperament.
Keeping in touch helps me know more about what I am breeding and it helps my puppy owners feel supported in what ever aspect.
We have an Alchmy Family Facebook Group where we share all types of information. It’s not limited to Brags about ribbons or qualifying legs in performance sports but the ups and downs of dog ownership, not just about our Alchmy puppies but other members of our canine families.

In 2006, six months after my first litter I was visiting a puppy owner in Sequim and we fantasized about how great it would be to see all the puppies from the litter together. Joanne and Jack, the puppy owner offered to let us use their property to hold a family reunion. That summer was the first of 8 annual reunions we had. In 2014 life took a turn and I sold my house to start a two-year multi country trip (with poodles of course) through Mexico and Guatemala which meant an end to our events. It was an amazing bonding experience for the ‘family’ and many of our friendships will last our lifetimes.
This year, 2016 we’ve switched venues and a few of us will be meeting in Montana at an organized Dog Activities Camp.
