It’s time to introduce you to the gang
BLUE
A boy born 6:37 pm 14.9 oz
Today 32.0 ounces
Blue puppy was first born. Ally wasn’t exactly sure what was going on and went to her bed next to the couch to have him. It was a little awkward since she was half out of the bed. Blue puppy was a very feisty baby and nearly jumped out of my hands.
(If you’re a bit squeamish don’t watch this video)

Puppies normally double their weight their first week. It looks like these guys are right on target. I’ve also found that puppies are the roughly at 12 weeks in pounds as they are in ounces at 8 days. It will be fun to see if this trend is true for this litter.
A proud Mom
I’m crying from that video. Speechless. So moving.

Did she expel the placenta?

Yes, we were very lucky that the placenta came with each puppy. It doesn’t always happen and it puts mom at risk for infection. Usually even retaining one is fine but it’s nice to not worry.

Was that what you were pulling off the puppy? And suctioning it’s nose – is that standard? I figured it was, since that was one big fat, ready for action baby.

Beautiful and wonderful. Claudia, did you get to hold that baby right away?
