Puppies had a fun trip to North Bend today.  The got to meet the Carney family.  The human children were all napping but poodle child, Boomer was there to entertain Mica and Nickel.  It was a beautiful day and the puppies explored the yard and played with bubbles out of a mechanical bubble maker.  Boomer and Mica were having so much fun we decided to let them have a slumber party, and Mica stayed.  Apparently Boomer was sad to see the Poodle Van leave and she hovered around the front door for a while, Mica made himself right at home and didn’t bat an eye.

Once home (and after a good nap and meal) puppies had another short Clicker lesson.  Some of the puppies are catching on very quickly, others don’t seem to care about a dumb metal pot.

It was dumb on my part to try to do this with so much happening around us.  Mr Green kept getting distracted.  I also made the session a little too long and you can see his intensity wane.

The other thing I did wrong was not treating him the third time when he got his one foot on the pan.  He was working very hard to try to figure it out.  Instead of rewarding him for his efforts and getting one paw up, I frustrated/confused him by not giving him a treat when he was so close.

I’m probably moving a little too fast and should be rewarding any paws up instead of insisting on two.  You’ll also notice that my click is a little late at times.  It’s a good thing he doesn’t know what I’m trying to carry out!
